So I have been working on this for a few months now, and it is up and running. I built my system around 2 - 100w (440nm-455nm) LEDs. Yes I said it 100w LEDs!!

They are mounted in the center of two 6 x 9 heat sinks with 4 20k 10w (cool whites) around them.

I then put 2 (405-420 uv) on the center line of each sink.

I finished off by putting 4- royal blue 10w LEDs on the outter most corners to help with fill.

The 100w LEDs are powered by a 36V 8.3A power supply.

The 20k and Royal Blue 10w LEDs are all powered by a 48V 7.3A power supply.

The UV LEDs and fans for the heat sinks are powered by a 20V 3.2A power supply.

all was purchased new on ebay for around $550.

I will put up some pics up asap!! along with some PAR readings.

Nice setup, I would imagine you get a really nice shimmer effect from having those big 100w LEDs. Gotta love the power/heat savings too.

Out of curiosity how warm do the heatsinks get at the end of a photocycle? Even though LEDs are more efficient I have to imagine 200w per heat sink throws off a lot of heat.

Thanks for the compliments. Just send me a pm if you have any questions about the LEDs.

The heat sink stays Cool with the fans on but gets very hot with out. My evaporation rate has drop a lot also, that helps with my auto top off.

We are going to have the QC meeting at my place this month if anyone is interested.
