Although I am not a new member to the forum,  I am a new GIRS member and Craig asked me to post some info so here goes.....[IMG]
Started like most with a small FW tank (20g) about 20 years ago.  Got hooked so purchased a 90g AG tank with dual corner overflows.  Then went to cichlids.  Couldn't stop with the 90g so ordered a 135g custom acrylic with oak stand and canopy about 15 years ago.  Started with SW 2 years ago.  Purchased a 112g acrylic with stand and canopy about about 2 months ago.  Also have a 29g as a QT/hospital tank.
Currently in the process of a rebuild on the 135g...Being 15 years old and having a few scratches, nicks and some hazing, thought it was time to resurface  it[IMG]  Will replace and replumb everything for the new custom acrylic 60g sump.  The sump is setup :  Skimmer>Return

    Cool welcome to the club.

Are you going to convert the 135 to salt as well?

I would nix the UV. It is worthless is most reef aquariums.

    Welcome to GIRS Sponge!
That is a long standing debate on the UV Craig. I happen to think it does work and I run it! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Thanks Craig[IMG]  The 135g was/is/will be SW reef again.  I'm leaning toward just using the UV for the QT/hospital tank as keeping the bulb clear of deposits is a pain[IMG]'
    Have a good one today![IMG]

    Thanks Joel!
I have had good luck running the UV inline on the 135.  Works good for ridding "green" water(algae) and some pathogens.  It's just a pain to keep the bulb clear of deposits so I'm thinking of using it just for the QT/hospital tank.[IMG]
