So has anyone else been into Seascapes lately?  They have their new bijillion gallon tank sitting on a pallet.  I took a pic with my cell phone but forgot to download it.  It's 5 feet tall, 10 feet long, and 4 feet deep.  That's rough guess but that works out to about 1500-1600 gallons.  They are currently recruiting people to help them lift it onto the stand that they are currently having custom-built.  Luckily, there's a Gold's Gym right down the way and they have a bunch of those guys recruited.  Perhaps Tim could jump on here and comment about when they expect the "big lift" to take place.
Then to be followed by the "big make-all-the-connections" followed by the "big fill" and the "big dump-in-8-or-10-boxes-of-Reef-Crystals" event, followed by the "big put-in-the-live-rock" and...well you get the idea...I'd like to see a thread started on that system.  I suppose that makes me the volunteer?

Talked to Tim yesterday. The stand is done and I think he said they're bringing it in on Wednesday. Still having other parts made though I guess...

Talked to them Thursday and the stand still isn't here.  It was supposed to arrive next Monday but now won't ship until then (maybe?).  The plan is to turn the 600 gal display into a softies tank with some display angels, etc.  The new one will be set up as a reef with mostly lps and sps corals.  Fun fact to know is that the 600 has about 1500 pounds of live rock - I can't even guess at what the new one will get.

OH THEY JOYS OF NEW TANKS!!!! It's now Thursday the 16th...and guess what...still no stand!!!!! I FINALLY have tracking showing it left yesterday and will arrive monday. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! Now all we have to do is get it in the store...and figure out for sure where it's going. We have a few options...depending on what the grand scheme is. Forklift will hopefully be here next week (we are going this route to lift it...MUCH EASIER) and then the plumbing begins.

Currently we will have a 300 gallon sump (which seems soooooooo tiny next to the tank), with a bio tower on it. There will be 2 calcium reactors as well, and not sure on the skimmer (either running two smaller yet still larger lol...or POSSIBLY 1 big a** one if I can wing it.....). Lighting will not just be the 4 1000W Halides. There will also be several 400W halides on it.

Depending on how we build the rock up...the sky is the limit for quantity. There is roughly 1500-1800lbs in the 600, but this tank will not be a singular mound like the 600. There could be up to 3000lbs total live rock in that tank! ($$$$) We are looking at a few options with building a reef up one side, with an overhang on the other (which will be SWEEEEEEET), with a half reef wall on the back and another possible structure in the middle. And that is IF all goes as planned.

Extra circulation will be god knows what at this point, definitely some wave boxes, and possibly an EXTREMELY large surge/dump box. Not sure if we're doing a closed loop.....or any of that...as right now the first concern is location/plumbing...and IF it gets connected to the "shark pit" and the 600 gallon to make 1 large system, in which case the "shark pit" will be the main sump.

Anyways....this is ALL dependent on our lovely stand builders getting their heads out...well yeah...and getting us our stand. IF SO.....then next week will be the start of a beautiful tank, and a tiresome yet exciting setup! WISH US LUCK!

Yeah I forgot about this.  This pic is actually 2 months old.  They have it up on a stand and have a couple hundred pounds of LR in it, no water as of last time I was in there.
Also the shark pond is no longer a shark pond, they got rid of the shark and cleaned the tank, said it's going to be for 'big fish'

I saw that big tank last weekend. Quite impressive. Too bad about the shark pool. Did their shark die? They should put a few Koi in there.

The rock is all glued together and sand is in the tank. They are waiting for a part for their UV before filling up the tank.

    ALERT!!! TOTAL DISASTER AT SEASCAPES!!!!

For anyone paying attention to this thread, this might be the last update. I stopped in today to buy some food around 4:15. I thought something was odd when I saw floor fans everywhere and a little water here and there. Tim and another guy were poking around under the Arowana tank. This is how the conversation went.

    ME: "Was there a leak?"

    TIM: "We filled it!"

ME, as a took another look: "Oh #@!%@!#%"

    I am still in shock.
They said it took less than 5 seconds to empty out completely, and a wall of water flowed through the entire store.  There was a huge dehumidifier running, and about 20 floor fans of all kinds.  There were pools of water all over the place.
Luckily, no one was hurt.  Scott was STANDING BEHIND THE TANK when it gave way.  I think he's lucky to be alive.

The pics of the broken tank were removed by my request after I talked to Tim today, then he messaged me that it was OK to keep them online. I re-posted them in the thread in the general forum.
