I am in need of a new laptop and really looking for the best bang for my buck. I have not been keeping up with the technology on computers like I used too and am looking for suggestions. Things I need. I do a lot of gaming so I need a strong video card. 17 inch screen. quad core cpu. I have always used AMD but again I dont know the differances between the a b c e series of these. Biggest reason I go with AMD is they usually have ati video cards vs a onboard intel chip would like to stay under 700 but will go up too 8 if need be
i would review this website http://dealnews.com/c49/Computers/Laptops/ they always have really good deals
The current line of intel chipsets being produced right now have the competitive edge over AMD, it's always a back and forth thing between the two. Nvidia (intel) is consistently smashing ATI (amd) gpu's. As for laptop producers ASUS can't be beat, check them out and compare laptops at Newegg.com (they always ship really fast). I would have to plea with you though, if you're really into gaming.....build a desktop! My desktop will absolutely wipe the floor with any production computer or laptop currently offered (and it's 3 years old!)
I have built many desktops and while I agree desktops are better but I need the mobility of a laptop. I spend my weekends at my buddies house doing WoW PvP and stuff
I built custom laptop at the time the i7 came out for about 1k and its still very competitive to date at HPs website. generally as cheap as you will find them and there are all sorts or rebates available
I am also looking for a new laptop, so I'll keep an eye here. My needs are more modest, but my research so far suggests that the current i-type intel chips are the best bet. All the reviews for the most recent amd chips say they are disappointed with the performance. I'm going to be shooting for more of a budget machine, but with the i5 processor.
