    I think they are some type of feather dusters.
    I seen 3 after work went back later could only find 2.
    they are a hard white tube 1 1/2" to 2" in length no thicker than the lead in a pencil plus it has a small brown feather that comes out and is only as round as the pencil.
    I placed them into some rocks where they were only sticking out 1/4". will see f they are still in the same spot in the morning or if they got blown away and will never be seen again.

    They are cluster dusters very common you will find them in a lot of dark places in your tank. like the sump or overflow. they are a good filter feeder but can multiply very rapidly when conditions are right. also be careful moving your rock around now cause there tubes are sharp and you can cut your self on them

    I've got hundreds of them. They are great for making rubber gloves completely useless.
