So a bit ago I talked about how I redid the tank in my bedroom. Well I had an extra Mangrove tree and a new freshwater trend seems to be in having plants grow out of the top of the tank so I decided to combine the two. Here are some pics.

Note: The window faces the west side of the house and so there wasn't a lot of sunlight. I had to add an additional light to help with the leaves.

See them now. What do you have it in? Some kind of media basket or is that a filter in there?

It was this "freshwater" hanging filter that goes inside the tank and pumps up water through the inside. The only media they give you are clay pellets to "bury" the plant in. I found it for like $15 at Petco.

SO.....apparently in retrospect moving the mangrove from one tank to another after it had sprouted roots was a bad idea. Something about a change in salinity that kills them.
