Good evening. I have had this BC29 up and running for 2 months. Just added more rock and wanted to get your guy's opinions. Getting some good green hair algae. I have a small cleanup crew consisting of 3 different kinds of snails and 3 blue leg hermit crabs. Water tests have been showing good numbers. Just not sure when I should add fish, or if I should do something different with the rock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I like your rock work! Don't know that I would change it. One thing that always happens to me is I hate how my rock scape is but everyone else seems to think it looks great. It's never gonna look good enough for yourself haha. As far as everything else your asking about... I would check out this thread started by another member. It's a very good read and I think really nails down the begging steps. I'm posting the link for you.

Thanks for that! That was a great read! Looks like I need to get some copopods and amphipods. I always thought I needed to wait to add plankton like you do with fish. I'm going to have to follow that thread and hopefully more information is posted.

Hey no worries I did too. Haha. Yeah it's a great read. I think some of us have been pushing for him to keep updating lol. The dude knows his stuff. I'm in the middle of 220gal build now and I'm basically following what he says to a tee. What kind of mods have you done to the BioCube? If any. What are running for lights?

Ok, so I bought the InTank media basket for 10 bucks. Looking at maybe building my own fuge for it. I bought a cheap china led box for like 90 bucks. It's got the blues on one dimmer switch and the white, green, red on another. Got them pretty low since I don't have anything really in there. Also got the skimmer, but it's not running right now. What are you wanting to do with your 220?

I have everything I need for the 220. Just moving slow as I needed to part ways with the coral I had in my 150. Got a babysitter for the coral I wanted to keep and got rid of the others over the past week. Now that their gone I can Start taken down the 150 with out fear of death in the tank haha. The fish are happy and don't need the lights. I have AI Sol Blues with the wifi controller. I built a 75gal sump for the 220 that will have a fuge in the 2nd to last chamber. I'm looking to do mostly SPS in my new set up.

Sounds like it's going to be a great setup. I would love to go bigger, just some have the place or money to do a 180 like I would want. I haven't fully decided if I want to do corals. Mainly interested in a FOWLR with maybe an anemone. I've seen how much corals go for and I wet myself a bit lol. Maybe when I do upgrade, the BC can be a coral tank. Who knows. Don't need the wife to kill me just yet

Hahaha yeah I know how that goes(wife) She seems to be okay with me and this hobby but from time to time she likes to get on me about it. Being on this forum, idk how much longer you will last with no coral haha. 10 bucks says you start buying coral with in 6 months haha

Ha-ha I can see why you say that. I went to the fall fest this year and saw so many cool ones. At the time I went, I think my tank was up for like 2 weeks lol. If I got corals, one of my friends would kill me. He thinks my tank should be up for almost a year before doing those

Looks good. Won't be long and you will have it full of corals and fish. Then you will be ready to upgrade lol.

Ha-ha you could be correct. I'm already looking into building a plywood tank for my cichlids. If it goes well, I'll definitely be looking at building a salt one!
