I just recently moved back to the Des Moines area after being out of state for approx. 22+ years and am really interested in getting back into reef tanks once again.  I have a few reef tanks while living in Kansas City, but due to breaking my back on the job a year ago and moving back to Des Moines I had to let the tanks go.  I felt that if I wasn't able to give my tanks the 100% attention they deserved then I should not have them.  I am now at the point where I am ready to SLOWLY get back into the hobby and start piecing equipment back together but I am going to have to do this slowly as my budget is extremely tight right now.  Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find some good equipment that won't break my wallet?  At this point I don't have any equipment at all...not so much as a tank, skimmer, powerheads, ro/di unit, or even a heater.
Any help with suggestions or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone here as time goes by and enjoying all this great hobby has to offer once again.
    Thanks,
    Bradd

How big of a tank are you looking for. I've got a 29 gallon Biocube which would be a good place to start, if you are looking to get into it

Welcome to GIRS! We have a great crew around Des Moines. There is always stuff coming up for sale on here, just keep a close eye out in the Buy/Sale/Trade forum or post what you're looking for. Often people have stuff sitting around that they're willing to get rid of but aren't actively trying to do so...

Thank you all for the welcome. Right now I am still trying to get my finances in order, but would be interested in a 29 if the price was right. It has been years since I have had a 29g salt talk, but I think it would be a decent tank to start up with again. At that size it wouldn't kill my back (have a broken back that is healing and a herniated disc as well) taking care of it. The salt water bug has bitten me once again and I am chomping at the bit to get back into it. I will just have to do it slowly and when I have the spare finances.
