Well due to some extra money laying around I decided to spend about 500$ today on some new lighting and other stuff.  I bought a 11 Led fixture from a guy on Nano-Reefs.  Also to go along with that I bought a nice glass top for my 12 gallon nano, some optics and 2 more LEDs for the fixture.  I also hit up Dr Foster and Smiths, and bought a new moon light setup and a JBJ Auto Top Off and Aqua Lifter, and some Chemi Pure Elite since it was on sale.  Sound have pictures up during the week of the new coral too.

Sounds like some cool new things for the tank! Keep an eye on your aqualifter...I had a new one that ran for about 2 weeks on my ATO, then decided to quit suddenly. I'm contacting the vendor for a warranty replacement, but just keep an eye on it. It would suck to have it go out and not notice it wasn't working.

Yea that would suck.  I bought mine through Dr F&S so maybe they could help me if something goes wrong.

Were you running the prefilter AJ? Mine has been running strong for around 9 months with no prefilter then I read somewhere it was a good idea to run one. Helps keep crap out of the actual pump.

No prefilter. Maybe that was the issue, I don't know. I have a solenoid that I think I'm going to switch to...use an elevated 5 gallon bucket instead of the aqualifter. I just need a JG bulkhead for the 5 gallon bucket and I'll switch it over.

I've had the same Aqualifters forever! If you don't use and clean the pre-filters they clog up very easily. You can get rebuild kits for them for about 2 bucks a pop and are very easy to work on. My suggestion is if you rely on aqualifters make sure you have a rebuild kit or two, being they are so cheap it's good insurance.

Yea im really excited to start getting stuff, should look really good when Im all said and done.  I have a little issue with Dr. Fosters and Smiths, which sucks and cost me 46.99.  I clicked the wrong thing last night when I ordered, and when I called at 8:45 this mourning it was already to late to switch my order, but luckly they sent the other one free shipping, trying to decide if I wanna keep the LEDs or not.

Fosters and Smith have a guarantee on everything you buy, so if you're not satisfied, send it back and they'll credit you the money. They've always been very good to deal with in my experience.

I'm on my 3rd aqua lifter. Never ran the prefilter on the first 2 and if you don't, I think it drastically cuts down the life on one. The diaphragm replacement is about $3 though, and that's usually what's been broken, in my experience. Like the pp's have stated, keep the prefilter clean- mine needs it about about 1x a week or so. I feel like it keeps the siphon better when using the prefilter too.

Post some pictures when you get your lights set up!

Everything came in yesterday, and thanks to the help of Gered for putting stuff together, everything is up and running. This light looks awesome, a camera will not justify the light on this thing. The ATO work perfect too. I should have some pictures up this weekend.
