New trustee needed - and plans for remainder of 2014

Des Moines region is looking for a new trustee, as Zach Boyer no longer has the time needed to fill the commitment.


Until a permanent replacement trustee is identified, Chris Civitate and I will be jointly coordinating activities for the Des Moines region. Our goal is to have a permanent trustee identified by January, if not sooner.


For the remainder of 2014, here are our plans for the region:


September 27th: Trip to Nebraska Aquatics (Omaha) for their 3rd Anniversary bash


This was a great event last year. Nebraska Aquatics had some great speakers, specials on corals, food, and dry goods. Additionally the club raffled off a couple gift certificates for Nebraska Aquatics. Oh and did I mention all the food too????? We’ll get a thread going soon for those interested in car pooling.


October: DIY food meeting. Date and location to be selected. October 11[sup]th and October 25[sup]th[/sup] have been suggested as possible dates. See the thread and vote if one of the dates will work for you. http://www.greateriowareefsociety.o...fault.aspx

November 15th[/sup]: Fall Fest in Cedar Rapids


December: Tank tour – let’s show off what you bought at Fall Fest. Date and tanks to be determined. We’ll start a separate thread for that in October.


January: Holiday party

Hey Donny - We appreciated the offer from you to use 4 Paw Unleashed for the DIY food event. As you saw, we decided to go with the Central Campus location. Their schedule doesn't always work with ours, so we like to take advantage of it when it does work. Plus its good for the club to have a relationship with them. But I didn't want you to feel bad since we aren't having it at your site. Maybe next time.
