OK, so at this point I have:

    a chromis,

    a clown,

    A firefish

    a sixline wrasse

    a yellowline wrasse

    a bangaii cardinal

    a niger trigger

    a powder brown tang.

It's time to add a new fish (or two!).

What I have my eye on:

    Magnificent foxface

another tang (Naso, most likely, or similarly docile tang)

    Mandarin goby

    Another clown

    Flame angel

    And.....you tell me.

    Tank specs:

    180 gallons reef tank.

I've been considering ordering online, but it don't make sense to pay $35 shipping for one fish.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I personally would go with a Blonde Naso tang if it were me....that's the direction I'll be going when my 220 is ready. Otherwise - I do have a Foxface Lo - large adult I would sell ya.

If you do not want the foxface, I would be interested.

Ooh! Yeah, I'd love that foxface. Where are you located? Why you parting with it, btw?

Nothing wrong putting a sailfin or a yellow tang in the tank. I have both and love them. I also have a kole tang, and a koran angel so I like the bigger fish in my tank. The big thing is the rock structure for the fish you put in. Some bigger style/size fish dont like the rock in there way so you need large opens for them to run through. I to want to add a FoxFace to my tank. I'll probably wait til I get my 210 before I get him though. I saw Pet's Playhouse here in Cedar Rapids has 4 Powder Blue tangs for $65, med size. I am thinking about grabbing one here later this week if bills pan out right.

A pair of flame angels. Really cool to watch pairs in a tank together. for that matter a pair for any of your fish that you have listed.

With a tank that size, you can have a ton of fish, and pairs are so cool, especially when they start spawning

Id wait at least a year for your tank to cycle and populate enough food for a mandarin. Otherwise id get another clown so you have a pair and a blonde naso. Acc had a georgous one up there last time i was in. If my 180 was up i would of grabbed it in a heartbeat.

Does ACC still have it. They had large beautiful ones and would love to buy a show one from them. Also would like a large lionfish.

The one that was in the coral tanks that was a foor long with streamers is sold. We have another that is in the blue bottom tank with a purple tang, sailfin tang, and blue hippo that we have had for about 3 months now.

Not sure the price, call Andrew Thursday & make a deal with him. Very pretty fish!

No large lions is stock, just a medium one. We do have a very large shipment coming from the Philipines in the near future that may have some large ones.

I've been meaning to take a trip to ACC. Looks like I found my excuse.

Love the idea of a pair of anything, particularly flame angels. I've been told to wait to add them last. Still applicable in a large tank?

I really want more tangs. I'm being a little cautious with my PBT though. Should I wait until he's been in there a little longer before introducing a new tang? That's why I was leaning toward the Naso. Ideally I'd like to have at least 3 tangs.

Both questions are a matter of opinion, I added my pair of flame angels to my new tank first. Since then I have added other fish with no issues.

IMO, no matter when or how you add Tangs, there is going to be some aggression for the first couple of days. Normally this works itself out after a couple days & things go back to normal.

I have 3 tangs in my 135 gallon. Looking to add a 4th this weekend. And yes they do have a slight aggress for like a day or 2. My coral beauty stepped up and got them to work on their differences. lol. She is the 3rd smallest fish in my tank but she is the dominate one.

My PBT has set himself up as the tank boss. The niger trigger was there frist, but he lost a BIG chunk of caudal fin and has since decided to capitulate. Once that settled itself, every has started to look better and such. Time to throw them for a loop again.

Here's a secondary question: how many fish could I add in a shortish period? Say, over the next few days? /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif

If it is going to over the next few days I'd recommend trying to add as many if not all of them at once. Moving fish in with tank mates stress the new fish and the existing mates so might as well just give them all one shock once and not prolong the effects over the course of a week. You'll also want to keep an eye on the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates levels and make sure they dont go all crazy as well. That will also cause additional stress on the tank inhabbitants.

Bold! I like it. I've been watching those exact levels as I've been adding in some live rock every week. Saw a little spike, but nothing terrible. All the fish are looking super healthy, better than they have since I moved them to the new tank. Might be time. Look out, wallet!

The most fish I've added at a time with no issue was 8 but that was a snailfin tang, yellow tang, koran angel, and 5 chromis that were prior tank mates that I had bought off of a member so they were all use to each other and had no issues. They were added to my tank that had 2 blue damsels, a tomato clown and a true perc and all seem to be fine. Haven't seen anything ever go wrong with any of them. The yellow tang has a couple cool white patches near his tail that were coming in when I get him, no sigh of ick anywhere in my tank just pain in the rear canyo cuz of my lights but that is pretty much gone as well. I'm looking at getting a medium powder blue tang from Pet's Playhouse here in CR.

Not 100% if my memory is all here this early in the morning but if it services me well AC&C has a discount for paying GIRS members so might want to look into that to help the crying from your wallet lol

Adding 8 fish would be awesome. I can't wait to see a bustling population running around in there. I might not be able to realistically afford all the fish right now, but I'll see what I can work out. Still wanting to hear back about that foxface, too.
