Does anyone know what North Liberty's water pressure is?  Setting up my old RO and thinking about if I will need/want a booster pump
Also, has anyone ever gotten the 'specs' on water quality here?  I think they're required to give you this, just not so interested that I'm going to track it down (read: lazy).  I know the chlorine/chloramine is thru the roof-it smells like a pool! I plan to have some FW tanks and curious to know what to expect.
    Thanks!
    Matt

No specs on N Liberty, but here in CR, my pre-filter TDS is between 160 and 210, and my water pressure is consistently 60 psi.

    Pressure seems fine.
My TDS likes to register at or above 1,000 - I've spot checked it in other municipal  settings (Iowa City) where it registered 130-150.
Talked to someone @ the city who indicated the water is hard and heavily softened leading to the higher TDS.
Have battled nuisance algae the whole two years the tanks been up - now have a 5-stage filtration.

Seems like that water might be just right for quarantine tanks...already has the copper added. ;-) OK, so I guess the chlorine might do bad things...maybe it's not so good...

wow, it sucks not living in Iowa City huh? Our water is @ 30 tds straight out of the tap, smells and tastes good, great pressure here on the SE side. Depending on how you look at it, or what you're using it for it also has 0dKH straight out of the tap, which is great for us, but not so good for people who have no idea what they're doing and are trying to keep fw tanks alive.

    Eric,  Thanks for the info.
How does Iowa City have nearly pure soft water...  It's basically straight from the Iowa River...?  When I lived in Iowa City the water quality was just as bad as it is in NL.  It smelled even more chlorinated too.  Like a pool.

We got a new state of the art water plant about 5 years ago :)  We don't use river water for drinking water, it's an aquafer, waste water is a different story. The Iowa City waste water discharge into the Iowa River just upstream from Hills is crystal clear and clean water. I have a friends that works on the down stream side here in Iowa City, he did his internship as a plant manager in CR and said that the Iowa City plants are light years ahead of other municipalities in the region.

Ugh.. I'm moving from Des Moines to North Liberty in a couple weeks. So should I expect to go through RO/DI filters like crazy? I'm used to 170-180 TDS from the tap in DSM. I've never even heard of tap as high as 1,000 TDS.

I'll try to check tonight to see what I'm measuring from the tap.
Still @ 000 after filters (5-stage), Membrane about year old, filters newer.
