I have a lot of bicolor octospawn. $4 a head, just let me know how large you want. I'm downsizing my masive colony for more room. I know I live far from everything so I can bring it to Fall fest. Sorry for the bad pics. Open to trades.

I am SOOOO temped. I have tried frogspawn twice without success, but I think that it was a nitrate issue one time (completely undercontrol now), and the other time I got some corals from a GIRS member that had flatworms and I think that the attempt to kill the flatworms was too much stress on the newly fragged coral.

So you have anything else in your tank? I'm curious why it didn't survive.

I have a couple of zoas, a green leather, two kinds of mushrooms (came on the live rock), some Kenya Tree, and waving hand. Of course the Kenya Tree and Waving Hand started out as almost nothing less than a year ago and have grown like crazy. The green leather started out as a small sliver literally 1/4" wide by about 2" long. I got it to attach to a rock and now it is about 5" tall and 4" wide in about 7 months.

Like I alluded to, I had a round of work trips (always do) that fell back to back and then we went on a 18 day vacation, and then I had another work trip right after that. All I was doing was filling the ATO with fresh water, and using an autofeeder that was feeding the fish too much. Nitrates spiked REALLY high sometime in that period. I've got that down to pretty much zero now, but I think that is what killed the frog spawn that was put in shortly before the first trip, and melted away some smaller zoa frags that I got at the same time. The other frogspawn was really small and it was COVERED with flatworms. The dip stuff that I was given helped to remove the flatworms, but the coral took a lot of abuse getting picked at and shooken-up in the solution. It didn't last bery long at all. This was last Spring, where the one mentioned back 1 paragraph looked good for about a week and slowly died off while I was gone. Lots of lessons learned there. I was just home long enough to top off the water, and do 100 other things that needed my attention in the 24 hours I had before leaving again. I just took it as the coral was settling in, or that I was looking at it when it was just naturally not completely out.

    Again, lessons learned for sure.

The 2 sad things about this are 1) the corals died when entrusted to me to survive (although the first couple with flatworms I probably should have just refused as I think that did them in), and 2) I spent about $100 on frags that I have 1 zoa and 1 leather to show for it (the others were free or came on the rock).

Sounds like that could have been the culprit. If you think the flat worms are gone and want to try again let me know. I could give you a deal.

I'm very interested. Where are you located? As of now I believe I will be going to fall fest. Looking for a mini colony, what could you do?

XCorvette3037, I live in sterling il which is about 40min from you. I make it to davenport on occasion though. How big are you looking for. The biggest I have is around 40+ heads. I could make you a frag the size you want or at least close to it.
