Does anyone know if any of the stores in Iowa have these yet? I would love to get a mandarin that eats frozen or pellets. I guess there is a guy on RC who got one and it was eating pelleted food.

$20!? So is he losing money on them? The going rate sounds like it is $50. Sounds like the big thing is a lot of people are worried stores are going to push regular ones as ORA.

Those saying $20, are you sure you know what you are buying? That seems like an absolute too good to be true deal. If it is true, I need to get me one!

I gotta agree with xroads and bella here. I just cant comprehend the idea of them going for the same price as captive bred. i also hate to think that some lfs are going to try and take advantage of people just taking their word for it.

Probably the best bet is to buy from someone who knows what they have in stock. And definitely make sure the fish eat frozen pellets before you leave the store. If people have a problem showing you that the fish eat frozen pellets, then they don't need your business.

*sigh* Ten years plus of planning a tank to keep one specific fish, and when I finally get the money together and begin assembling a massive tank with a 'fuge to be able to properly care for it, somebody comes out with a nano version of it.

I've known the guy at Sea of Marvels for about 15 years or so; and I would doubt heavily he would sell something shady in anyway....it just isn't him.

I trust the guys at Adams too; too many GIRS members work there, and we know where they live /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif.

Just thought I would chime in and say if you see anyone selling these for under $50 you better make sure they eat in front of you. I have been reading threads on quite a few forums and $50 is the going rate and currently only Target Mandarins are released. Soon as I can find someone to get me one I will put up my experience.

For those who don't know I work at Petland and our ORA order list only says coming soon each month. We think they should start being available sometime this summer but that is just a theory.

What's the difference between "ORA" and other Mandarins?
