I will admit when I came back I was diagnosed with ptsd and the only thing they did was medically discharge me but now they have programs for our troops which I am am still going to councling 8yrs later but again I do not blame the government. Everything is done for a reason remember that.

Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction”. We are on the threshold of that being a reality. If we don't stop the loss of liberty, the next generation will not have freedom in the way the founding fathers wanted us to have freedom. We must stop it and hold on to the beliefs of our founding fathers, they really knew what they were talking about.

Muslim beliefs in burial are if I remember right according to the Koran, if one dies far at sea then a proper burial is of course at sea, but on land or close to land they are to be buried on land. However, the many thousands that died on 9/11 and the many that have died since then in some cases were not given a proper burial. I just know that I wish I would have been a fly on the wall when the NS Team 6 entered the compound and double taped him and he knew that our resolve was greater then his.

I hear you but it took time to figure out what country he was in the military did thousands of raids with no luck as for info there was thousands that led to nothing. There is probably millions of caves over there and he knew them better then us so hiding is very easy. Yes ten years is a long time but either way we got him.

FindnNemo- I hear you about the proper burial but if we did to him what he did to us then we are no better then he was.....

we have satellites in space that can see what color underware your wearing, programs that can take key words out of your internet posts and flag them for inspection same with cell phones but it takes 10 years to find a guy in a cave i find that hard to believe what I find easier to believe is they wanted you to think he was still out there so they can control the general people with fear and take away more of your rights AKA the patriot act if you think we are not loosing more freedoms every day just look at all the new laws they come up with every year that take away more of your rights and your money

I sometimes wonder why anyone in this day and age would implicitly trust what our governmentmedia spoon feeds us as the full truth. What I think is wrong with politics today is that the vast majority of those in power in government (congress, etc), regardless of political conviction, are a far cry away from where our Founding Fathers stood with respect to the sovereignty of this country, their view of the constitution, the rights of the people. It seems that the faster that communication of information happens, the more often these guys are caught with their pants down just long enough for a flash of the truth to make it out there, until it quickly gets 'recanted' or 'corrected', which then is fuel for the conspiracy fodder. I have seen enough of this that I feel like there is always a little more than we are being told, and it makes me trust the governmentmedia that much less every day.

Make no mistake that I am 100% behind our troops. And I'm not one of those people that say "support our troops, bring them home" as if not bringing them home means I don't support them. I support our troops bringing aid to those who are oppressed in regimes that are fueled by true greed and hunger for power at the expense of the helpless. I support our troops bringing a possibility of freedom to those who have none. I support our troops for putting themselves in harms way every second so that I can sit here and express my views without fear of incarceration. I support fighting the war against terrorism, and preferably I would not like to fight this war on our soil, so I therefore support having troops where the terrorists are.

What I do NOT approve of is our government pushing through things like the Patriot Act which sounds all great to anyone looking at the name, but it just strips us of our rights. They print this thing off that's however many thousands of pages, hand it to congress, give them no time to evaluate it, and just say "sign it". There are endless examples of things like the Patriot Act that are slowly and consistently eroding this country!! Those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it. When you give away a right to the government, you will almost never get it back. When you give a new power to the government, it will almost never be taken away. Some things that may seem harmless, helpful, etc at the point of passage come back 20 or 40 or 50 years later to become a juggernaut that cannot be stopped, and we all sit back and wonder how it became this way.

I do not feel that it is unAmerican of me to question the motivations of our government and criticize the way this are being done. In fact, I think that is exactly what a good American should do, and I think we should all be doing it. It's the only way to keep our government in check.

But this thread was about how we finally killed Osama. Do you really think there isn't all kinds of politically motivated timing in all of this? Really? You're telling me that we just couldn't find this guy until right now? Really? I mean, I think it's great that he's dead, although I don't think it's really all it's cracked up to be. I mean the guy was trained by the CIA before he 'decided' to become a terrorist and got 'ostracized' by his Saudi family, and the Saudis are likely the largest financier and supporter of terrorism, but we'll never touch them because they control so much oil. So we finally 'track him down' and kill him.

I think the biggest question that raises is "why now".

I mean, he's been the figurehead for such a long time. He's been the "One Man Theory" that supposedly unites all the terrorist organizations. So why now? Someone somewhere has a plan. I have a feeling that something bad somewhere is about to happen.

And mark my words right now - hold on to your rights. You think some major terrorist attack is a big event? I think such events, aside from the loss of life, are historically inconsequential when compared to the long term generational impact of how the government uses such events to persuade us into handing over our rights.
