Overflow box

    Was wondering what the best overflow box is?  Cpr I read is good but 120.  How about the octopus its 80 and no u tubes?

    U tubes are a good thing. A properly maintained U-tube overflow can not fail. It's physics, and you don't have to mess with an air pump. You can probably get a used one off here for $25 or so.

    I"ve got one I"ll sell you for $25 I belive it's a CPR but it is only a sinlge 1" drain.
    This is the one I have it's rated for up to 125 gallon tanks and flows up to 600 gph.

    I use a Tom Aquatics because it self vents air so there is no chance of flooding. It isn't as nice as some others and doesn't handle as many GPH, but no flooding was a major selling point.

    my return pump is 800 what would happen if i use it on one rated for 600?

    You would end up with water on your floor unless you have a ball valve to dial back how much water is actually pumped back into your tank. Also keep in mind 800 gph on a return pump doesn't actually end up being 800 gph because of the force it takes to pump the water up a vertical gradient. So 600 may be enough.

    so id be good at getting something rated for 1200 gallons?
