Does anyone have one to borrow? Id like to get some readings from my new LED light to see if I need to add any more.

    Thanks!

The club has one you can use for 5.00. Let me see where it is and I will get back to you.

Has there always been a charge to use the par meter? This is the first I have heard of it.

That is what we agreed on when they were purchased you can use it till some-one else needs it. at least a week. That money is suppose to go to a fund to maintain and buy more equipment. If we decide not to charge it that would be fine by me but the BoD would have to approve it.

If the rest of the BoD could chime in here that would be great.

I'm not on the bod but I find the "rental fee" perfectly reasonable. There is going to be wear and tear on items that exchange hands frequently. The fact that we had some cash from MACNA doesn't mean it will be there forever. A nominal $5 fee is also going to make it so the unit is virtually always available to someone who needs it (ie I'm not just going to drop $5 so that I can have some fun with a par meter for the day). I can see the one week thing becoming a potential issue, especially when a meter is being used to test a DIY fixture. It would certainly suck to pay multiple $5 fees while ordering parts and dialing a light system in to being exactly how I want it.

As far as the one week thing goes, I let who-ever keep it as long as no one else needs it. So far that as not been an issue everyone that has had it has had it for at least 2 or 3 weeks.

Awesome. I don't mind paying a fee just let me know what I need to do.

    Thanks!

Is this the des moines group par meter? I'm just asking because I never heard about it on the cr/ia meter. I have no problem either with it helps keep a fund to replace it when it gets broke.

Nope never heard of a fee for using Par meter here in the IC/CR area region. I have use it once and no fee. I used it for as long as I needed it and that was it. Fee is ok, but not sure its really needed.

Figured I would check in on the par meter. Some of my monti's are loosing color and I have a suspicion I may be burning them with my DIY led.
