Couple weeks ago i moved my apex from my system upstairs in my house down to my utility room where the sump is for the new system and immediately the dashboard read in the low 7, when it had been a steady 8.2 before. Ever since the move the ph has slowly been dropping. I opened the window in my utility room for a couple hours over the weekend and got it up to 7.4 but dropped back down to 7 within 24 hours. Any suggestions of things to try, I didn't move the probe in water, just took it from one tank straight to the other. Could it have lost calibration?

Calibrate probe and see what happens.

Unfortunately it'll have to wait till this weekend since I work over the road. For some reason I've always had trouble trying to calibrate. When I dip the probe intothe different solutions the numbers on the apex barely change.

How long do you let the numbers settle? And do you shake some of the water off before it goes into solution?

I try to wipe the probe. I had it sit for the better of 15 minutes once and the numbers never moved. I had the brs video going at the same time to make sure I was doing it right.

Sous good. Maybe it really is that low. I would still calibrate.

I'm really hoping it is the probe. When I test with api it's right at 8.2. So that's why I'm confused. Hopefully I can calibrate this weekend. Thanks

It's very possible that it's the CO2 levels in your basement. You can always add a CO2 scrubber to your skimmer air intake.

I have 2 room attached to each other in my garage with a 3 x 4 hole between the two. One room is directly for equipment and the other has my furnace and such. That was I could have air exchange between the 2 when the furnace runs. I run geothermal heat.

I did some look and seen brs sells some absorbing media but am unsure what to put it in so I can hook it to my skimmer. Any suggestions?

I think @Armydog@Armydog uses something that converts CO2 or takes it out idk im not that smart to figure it out. But I remember he said something about CO2 and some canister that ran to his skimmer imput.

Yeah I found some co2 absorbing media, I just got make sure the canister I have is the right one. If I still have issues after calibration I'm going that route, my curious question is how long of a hose can be hooked to a skimmer before it causes issue?

i have about 25' of hose attached to my skimmer to get outdoor air, was having similar issues about a year ago. I had to adjust the skimmer a bit but not much difference from before the hose was there. just try to avoid any sharp bends that will pinch the hose down, ended up running 1/2" pvc pipe for most of the run so I only have hose from where it goes through the floor/wall.

Did you put any sort of filter on the end to keep bugs and such out?

Yeah, just stuck a piece of cotton ball in the end. Just loosened it up to make sure it didn't restrict air.

Sounds like your probe is toast. Save the time and order new. Mine did the same thing and said to f with it because I didn't need it to run a calcium reactor. After another month it was reading 3 and when I disconnected it the reading was 1.3

Probe is only a few months old. So I'm not really thinking it went bad already. Actually leaning more towards co2 in the room. Going to try an outside line this weekend

I guess im confused, your testing your ph and its testing fine, yet your probe isnt reading correctly, yet your still trying to reduce the co2 in the room your tank is in because the probe is still reading incorrectly? Yet is testing correctly? If its testing correctly, but the probe isnt reading correctly, wouldnt that point to a faulty probe rather than all these other non issue issues?

I have no clue what the actual issue is. Since I have conflicting tests results, but all I hear is api tests being junk I'm going to calibrate probe first. Which I have stated many times. So if I calibrate the probe and nothing changes it could be one of many issues that have been suggested to try and change.

Running a line from my skimmer has been suggested to me before as just a good idea, I've just never wanted to do it because I didn't want to put a hole thru the wall.

Ok i get you now, just kinda lost me for a sec. Honestly if put my money on the probe not reading correctly, if your ph was actually at 7 youd be having considerable issues inside the tank with inhabitants.
