So.... I've seen a good bit of this on the Girs boards here. Specifically about phosphate being bound up into rocks carbon or gfo.

How many people are sure our convinced that this is a pervasive and progressive problem, how many don't know or don't believe in it, or how many are undecided?

(Can't make a poll for whatever reason and want to get a feel of where abouts people stand on it.)

I think it is very real. We started our 280 with all dry rock and it cycled in rubbermaid tubs for 5-6 months and still had very phosphate readings. We ended up using lanthium chloride to finally get it down to about .04.

It's definitely real :0) Also, I use a DIY LaCl reactor setup for PO4 in my DT. Started DT w/ dry Pukani and for 2 years had a PO4 problem, even using GFO and, biopellets. I'd hate to look at how many buckets and how much $ I spent on HC GFO :-/ Some said I fed too much, Ha! I put a rock in a bucket for 3 days and tested the water...ouch!. Took all my rock out and did a muratic acid bath. Cycled the rock and again did the bucket test on a rock. Guess?! I use LaCl :0)
