Nice Lion Fish. I think that is one of my favorites for saltwater fish. i just wish you could just keep them in a reef tank.

I now you can't keep them with small reef fish or shrimp but as far as coral go there are still soft corals in this tank and 2 small pices of sps and none of the new fish are bothering them yet.

I agree, i have read quite a bit about lionfish and they really can be reef safe, the only downside as stated above is you cant have any of the smaller reef safe fish. If you want a reef with a lion you just need to know what you have and not buy any of the smaller fish, the lion will be fine with most if not all corals.

The little puffer did not make it never got him to eat. But the lion and grouper are monsterous eaters.

I had a 12" + lion that ate frozen squid from wal-mart for years.

Yea I started in this hobby about 7 to 8 years ago with a agressive tank that got phased out for a reef and I have missed haveing predators ever since. So when my 125 frag tank crashed I figured it was time to get some agressive fish again.

Some of my fav predator tank fish I've had include a 20+ inch bamboo shark, 12 inch queen angel, 30 inch fibriated eel, 20 inch jewel eel, 48" leopard moray eel, 24 inch plus snowflake eel, 2 big 6" plus hippo tangs, 4" plus clown tang, large dogface puffer, 6" plus niger trigger, 6" plus male blue throat trigger, 6" plus picasso trigger, and a 6" plus clown trigger. Most of these were in one tank.

Nice I bet that was a sweet tank! I will be getting a eel soon and I have been thinking about a small shark. I know I would not be able to keep a shark in my 125 forever but it would be cool while it lasted.
