Finally, I get some pics up.   Nothing too special.   I took me a while to get the fish eating serpent star out of the tank.   Right now there's just 4 fish and some basic coral.   But the staff and public love it.

I have never started a tank with 90 percent dry rock before so i had some challenges i wasnt used to. Three weeks after I set it up, there was a summer reading party about Mt. Olympus. I got to play Posiden and i had a tank with nothing in it. So I rushed the cycle by putting some fish and coral and had an hair algae problem since. Its about beaten now.

But doing this tank I have learned a lot about doing things differently than we would normally do. To get 120 gallons of water in the place without carrying 5 gallon buckets took some thinking. I got all the water from AE and filled up new trash cans in the back of my truck and didn't spill more than half a gallon all the way back. I used a sump pump that connects to a garden hose and 10 minutes later the tank was full. I bought the longest hose I could find.

Thanks for the comps on the rock work. The advantage of dry rock was i took my time and wanted it to look appealing. Not like a fruit stand look.

Yes, the Musser Public Library in downtown Muscatine. Its on the corner of Iowa Ave and W 3rd. If you know where the riverfront is, two blocks from ther up Iowa Ave.

Thanks guys. If the tank tour gets pushed back towards the fall, i may have my system up and running. Muscatine may have enough tanks for its own tour. RabbitReefer, library, B-Rad, mine and who else? That couple that has two 75's is in Muscatine right? I may have another guy or two set one up, too.

Hey Joe. I cant remember how many heads that war coral had when I got from you but its growing pretty fast the last month. I think it likes high nitrates or hates 10k lighting. It looked like it was losing color when i did a lot of water changes and had the 10k bulbs on most of the time. To settle the hair alge i only keep the actinics on and havent done a water change in about 6 weeks and its overgrowing that frag rock onto the bigger rock base i have it on.

Also another cool thing is, Calfo is personally giving me tips on this tank. I posted on my facebook and he commented on it and gave me some tips.

I'm 15 min from Muscatine.  My tank should be ready to view by fall.  I might be a good last stop or something.

Looks good. Kind'a neat to see it go from an idea to an actual tank set up.
