Thie yellow is more vivid in person but not too bad for a rookie. This piece started out as a 3/4 inch over priced brown turd when I got it and took FOREVER to color up.. I almost lost this piece this last summer to a temp swing and then an alk swing. I had to cut it off the rock it grew over. Its finally colored up and looking better every day.

Thanks everybody. This is definitely my favorite peice. It's finally getting the yellow up towards the top. The only place I could get it before was around the base. So I changed up my bulb Combo on my light and that seems to have done it cause in a lite over a month the yellow moved up. Now I have a few more of those reef raft peices that need to hurry up and grow up and color up! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Very nice, am I wrong that thinking it is related to a red planet?

Good question. I am not sure. But the growth structure and coral it's are the same. And it did originally encrusted over rock work before any significant vertical growth started. And it loves lots of light. The more I give it the better it looks. I bet they probably are related.

What really jumped out at me was the new growth is almost white like on a Red Planet. I will come visit you someday to get some frags!

Sounds good. I am gonna let it grow for a while to see if I can get the whole thing yellow then frag it. The few that I have cut/ broke off took several months to get a little yellow in it.
