I have a 60g rr cube thats been up and running for about 6 months and this is my first rr tank, so when I plumbed it all up to my sump I just connected the drain fitting to a a peice of flex tubing then to the intake of my sump. Then I connected my return pump to a piece of tubing to the return and everything runs great untill I do a water change... After I do a water change and I turn my return pump back on I always have to go back and unplug my drain tube from my sump otherwise no water will flow down the tube, kinda like theres air in the line and it wont flow.. Sorry if its hard to understand what im trying to say.. I need to get this fixed.. I will try and get some photos of it tonight and post them on here.

    Thanks

Does your drain enter below the water level of the sump? Like you said you are trapping air in your plumbing with a wall of water somewhere. My guess you could solve it by allowing air to enter at the end of the drain pipe. Put a t-fitting on the sump end, allow one side of the "T" to be open to the air.
