I've been looking at getting one for a while...count me in. What kind of pricing would it be and would they mail to each person individually or to one club person to distribute?

I think i will have to contact the customer service email provided on their website to get club prices. The reef builder site has mention of the group buys, but then the actual website doesn't mention group buys or give an option for it. On the reefbuilder link, it says they retail $65 and on the portal website it says $79.99 and i am unsure as to whether that includes shipping.

Has anyone heard of this group buy thing before?

I want to know how much ppl that already have them have paid and where they got them so i know we are getting a good deal. I know that they were being sold at macna, does anyone here have one that was purchased at macna, what size and how much?

Lastly, i thought that they had two sizes avail at macna, however on the portal website, they only have the 4" and says the others are coming soon.

If you go to the portal website(see original post) and to the order now, it only shows one size, and i think its the 4". I did ask them in the email if and when they would carry the others. Keep fingers crossed.

I won one of these at the MACNA raffle. I have a 120g reef, same dimensions as yours AJ 4x2x2. I tried taking pictures through it because it is cool, but the magnets power or whatever is so weak the inner part fell and landed on my torch. Bottom line, if you have a large tank with thicker glass it wont work.  It wasn't even strong enough to hold together on the side panel of my tank. Kylie has mine now, you might want to try it out before you buy, they aren't real cheap. She did, however, take some awesome pics with it in her 65g.

I have one of these on my 150 with 1/2 inch glass works great. I didn't get it at macna though. The magnet on the one i have is pretty strong maybe they have different magnet strength versions.

I got the 4" Portal at MACNA and paid $70. My acrylic tank is 1/2" and mine works great! They are pricey because it's a prescription lense. I wouldn't think anyone would have problems with the magnets. If so, contact the company as they are nice people :)

Do you have an oceanic tank? Thicker glass?

Most 120s are just 1/2" glass...that shouldn't have been an issue. I know Potroast loves his and he has a much larger tank that likely has even thicker glass. Something must have been wrong with the one that you got...magnets not seated properly causing them to be spaced further apart than they normally would be, or something like that. You still may want to contact them and see if they could help out. Maybe they got a batch of bad magnets or something...

I don't know for sure, but it does request tank material (on the website( How Thick your glass is) maybe the one at Macna as a gift was not as strong..

Hey guys, yes on the website order page it does ask for your tank glass thickness, i bet the ones they gave at macna weren't as strong, proly just standard.

Also, i did hear back from the customer service rep:
    "Hi Tina,
We can offer a 10% discount on the current price of 79.99 for club member group purchases.
Currently we only have the 4” Portal available.
Thank you so much for your interest in our product."

Anybody else have any input? I think someone mentioned we could ask craig what he'd do for a group buy?
