    On a 7 foot tank I would do 2 mp60 and 1 mp40 on back. Or 4 mp40

I agree with the Gyre. They move a lot of water for the money

I have seen people mount the gyre on the overflow box then the wire is hidden.

I second what Fishbrain said, 2 rw-20s in the sync mode. $80 each on amazon right now. I love mine.

I to killed a couple of the WP 40's by running them in pulse. But The second Gen RW pumps are vastly superior to the first gen WP pumps. I have had zero problems with the Rw's.

Running two on my 150g tall. The nice thing about them is they have 8 power settings. So if you want you can turn them way down then when they get a little dirty you can turn them up. That way you can be a little lazy about cleaning them lol. I like to have a pump on either end of tank. I run one in pulse to get the wave motion in my corals and the other in else or random to break up the wave so it wont rock the tank. Even If I was going to put pumps on one end I would do the same.
