I've been informed that I'm keeping my Picasso Trigger.  This guy is a very messy eater so I need something to act as a clean up crew.  What kind of cleaners can I use that won't also become an appetizer?

I asked at Seascapes and they weren't too optimistic about a starfish so I thought I'd see what real world reefers think.

Yea I'm pretty sure it would tear apart any starfish. I would try urchins, probably the longspines.

Get a big hermit. Thats what I had and no fish will mess with them. I can't remember their name but they aren't reef safe.

I had a friend with a predator tank that bought one of the big crabs thinking the same thing, within a week his trigger had eaten it.

That's what I figured.  How about hawkfish or something similar that might be able to hold it's own.  I know it won't clean up everything but it might at least take care of some of the leftovers - this guy is messy and if the chunks are too small he ignores them.  Not sure if it's possible to spoil a fish but this guy sure acts like it.  [IMG]
