Yup, it was time to ditch my 32-bit OS and attempt to run a full install off of a 64-bit UPGRADE disc, and I managed to succeed!!!!
Now I've got all 6 gigs of 1066 RAM running, enabled hyperthreading on my Core 2 Duo E8500 O.C.ed @ 3.8Ghz, and a fresh install on my 80gig Raptor (10K RPM) drives in RAID 0.
I'm considering picking up a pair of 64gig SSD's to replace my Raptors.
Also, we have some techie nuts in GIRS, maybe you guys can help me? I'm trying to get 6 gigs of RAM to POST @ 1066. I've had to lower it to 800mHz running CPU and RAM 1:1.
Even when I make adjustments to 1066 and increase MCH core upto 1.3V and DRAM voltage @ 2.1V, I can't get all 6 gigs to POST! Any ideas?
Fortunately 6 gigs RAM (4-4-4-12) is outperforming my previous 4 gigs @ 5-5-5-15 even at 800MHz

Have you tried raising your timings to something like 5-5-5-15 or higher. I know when I OC my ram just a small bump up in the timings helped out.

Battlefield 3 looks pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to Diablo 3. Hopefully they come out soon... But after MACNA... /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Those are pretty sweet. The prices are starting to come down to the point where that's a really attractive option for an OS drive. I'd be more tempted if my MB supported 6GB SATA.

Even with 4 SSD's in a raid 0 array, you'll never come close to reaching 6gb/s. If you look at some of the benchmarks these types of setups are reaching 500mb/s, a pair of SSD's in raid 0 are reaching 400mb/s. Whereas of course regular HDD's (singlular) reach 120mb/s, or a pair 10k rpm (like WD velociraptor) in raid 0 reach 250mb/s (with higher burst).
The big thing about ssd's is access time, which makes them great for OS. access speed on kingston ssd V now ssd's is 0.028ms, compare that to a high end HDD around 0.7ms.
I just picked up an ASUS 23.6" LED backlit monitor. It's blowing my fking mind! Now I gotta do a reinstall of Win7 with my new SSD's and I'll be blogging GIRS faster than I can type! lol
