Mike i am confused what do you mean pendants? Do you mean the AI lights? I can help if you have a controller for the light but not the apex unit.

Do you mean you don't have the AI brand controller or the controller for the Apex? I am pretty sure you need the Apex controller to run the thing.

The Vdm module is for the apex Bela... I have no clue how to program these things either... Nor do I have time to research and read up how to do it... I am way to busy to learn how to program a 2200$ light system that should be a simple plug n play... My tank will just sit in darkness until I find time to do it... At this point in time, I don't know when that will be... School and work consume all of my spare time besides tank maintenance and fish feedings...

spend another $70 on a AI controller and you will have plug and play.

MThomp is right, the controller from ai is cheap and pretty simple . If you need help programming it drop me an email and i will walk you through a basic set up until you get the time to get the apex set up. Unfortunatly I only have an ac3 and not the apex so i don't know how it works on that system.
