I have 3 of the HQI Hamilton Reefstar pendants. They are pretty big and kinda heavy. My new canopy on my new 150 is like a foot and a half tall l so if i mounted to the top of the canopy, the lights would be too far off of the water for sps growth near the bottom. I cannot just simple mount them lower b/c if i did i would be unable to get inside my tank to do anything. My issue is, i need to be able to raise and lower the pendants. I would like to be able to do so individually, but am open to suggestion.
    Thoughts?

They can be a full 12" up away from the water. That should be fine really, unless your talking about 150 hqi's. If they're 250's I really wouldnt worry about mounting them high.

Well, it just seems like a long way to travel. The 150 gallon is 28 inches tall, plus another 20 or so for the canopy, well thats 48 inches for the light to try to penetrate to grow sps corals near the bottom. I just think its too great a distance. And, yes, they are 250 watt hqi's. I hardly found 150 watts sufficient for sps in my biocube.

Sunlight Supply Sun Lift Hanger System.  I have them on my tank and they work awesome.  They will do exactly what you want.
