Ian (myfavoriteplace) has the par meter - a friend is holding his equipment for him. He will get it today or tomorrow. @E. J. Everts@E. J. Everts - are you on facebook? Ian responded there. If you are, what's your username, and I can put you in contact with him.

  2. I responded on the Facebook thread

@E. J. Everts@E. J. Everts - did you get the par meter from Ian at the end of August? If so, do you still have it or did you return it to Ian?

  5. I still have it

@covey@covey - Yes the PAR meter is available. However use of the Par meter is one of the perk/benefit for dues paying members. If you have been a dues paying member in the past, it looks like your membership must have expired. Members are denoted by a 'GIRS Member' banner beneath their name.

If you are interested in joining, dues are $20/year. In addition to free use of the par meter, members also get in free to the fests we have twice a year (prior to Covid!), as well as other benefits I won't go into here.

Yeah I am a new old member lol. I Paypal'd a sub. Interested in checking out the PAR. My Photons could legit bleach anything if I turn it up too much.

Great - the 'GIRS member' banner now shows under your name. I'm checking on the par meter. Generally we have it go back to the trustee. I'll let you know tomorrow what I find out.

Sorry this hasn't been coordinated better. We generally like it to go back to Ian for check out and then out, but because of all the delays, I'm fine with the 2 of you coordinating. I had surgery late last week and spent a few days in the hospital, so I'm a bit slow following up with things right now.

    No worries.

And it was an eye opener. That "the human eye is bad at judging par". I expected to have to turn it up but the par was 100 at the top of my rockwork. Me playing it safe by like a factor of 3.
Now to slowly creep it up over the course of a couple weeks.

At least I was right in the decision to run 2 fixtures.

FYI - you need to take the reading x 1.32 to get correct par value.
