I moved this weekend and put all the fish and some of the corals in a 35 gallon hexagon tank and put the rest of the corals in a 35 gallon rubber made container. I'll be picking up my new 125 gallon tomorrow night, but it will take me a couple days to get it water ready.
My question, can I make up new salt water to fill the tank and put all my rocks in the tank, then slowly acclimate the fish to it, or do I need to slowly acclimate the fish up to the new water volume/chemistry from the 30 or so gallons they have right now?
My fish are all looking pretty stressed out right now and I would like to get them into the bigger tank as soon as I can but don't want to stress them more by moving them to a big tank than they would be stressed by being in a small tank now.
    Any suggestions?

is all of your rock still in water and heated? what i did was make up half new saltwater and used half from my old setup. I didn't acclimate verywell though and lost 2 pieces of SPS but all my fish and everything else has done fine and has been up and going for over a month now. Thats just my thoughts. just make sure to keep a skimmer going on your coral and do a waterchange maybe and keep everything up to temp.

Yea almost all the rock is in a separate rough tote, the corals are all in a separate rough tote, and the fish are in a 35 gallon hexagon tank with a few rocks for now.

I've been busy with a move so I just got my RO/DI unit up and running now, I am out of salt because I told my brother to buy me a bucket of Reef Crystals for Christmas (hat drawn $50 limit), but instead he bought me a sweatshirt... So I just ordered a 200 gallon RC box off Drs. Foster and Smith and it won't get here until Tuesday, I think I'm going to borrow some salt from a friend til then and add 15-20 gallons or so at a time and get a big enough rough tote for a sump to have as much of a water volume ahead of time as I can.

There's just so many things going on right now with the move, I really don't want my fish to suffer. My corals are looking awesome in their rough tote. I have them slowly getting light acclimated to the new 400w halides, which are sitting about 6' above them and only running about 5 or 6 hours a day.
