I have a120 gallon and currently I am running two Kessil a350w's and two Aquaticlife .5 watt expandable LED's (for accenting certain areas of my tank and moonlighting at night). I have just recently started aquiring coral frags...my plan is to start out with a mixed LPS, SPS and Soft coral reef. Eventually if I like a specific kind of coral I will focus on that. Now my question is...is the lighting I have now going to be sufficient for what I want to accomplish? I feel that LED's are a new and not fully accepted method of aquarium lighting for reefs so I imagine I will get some mixed reviews. I love my lighting and so far my corals are responding positively to the set-up I have. I have read alot of good reviews on Kessil a350's but their doesnt seem to be a standard of how many lights are needed for varying sizes of aquariums.

Kessel has a calculator on their site.

I personally do not care for LED but I think you will have plenty of light.

What are the dimensions I have a 125 I'm running 3 350w can say the best things but can't say the worst had to go bad in less than a year customer service is good replace them immediately receive them within 3 days and they grow coral great I suppose everybody get a couple bad apples though for the most part I would give good reviews good enough that I recently went from a 72 bow front to a 125 and purchased another one [IMG][IMG] before I had a metal halide in the middle , the wife want to kill me after the last 1

My dimensions are 48x24x24...the kessil calculator on their website is for the kessil a150's but and it says 4 a150's maxiumum for a tank with my dimensions. I assume a a350 is comparable to two a150 lights so it looks like what i have and maybe possibly adding a third in the future would be a possibility. Sorry to hear you had bad luck with one set of these lights gearhead. So far mine are still going strong at almost 8 months and i hope they last for alot longer. Good to know that kessil has great customer support though just in case.

I dont have many pictures yet...i am planning on uploading pictures of my tank build and i am reading up on how to improve my photo skills of my corals and fish...so hopefully soon i can have some photos to show.

Much of that calculator is about spread. I am not sure 2 will give you enough spread in a 4ft tank. The t5s will make up for that though
