   hello, just wanting to know what would cause more blue color? i just got a 48inch 120 gal tank and i want to run 2 250w 10 k's over it and wanted to add some blue and didnt know what to get? was thinking 2 vho's or t5's or maybe even led's just wanted to see what other people would do?

   IMO, T5s would be have the best output for blue. However, VHOs have a certain glow(purple-ish pink) about them that T5s cannot replicate. If I had to choose, I would do VHO actinics and add blue LEDs.

   I would say go with t5. They are much more efficient than vho's.

   If you want a lot of extra blue i would do 4 4' t5 bulbs.
