radions or ai lighting

    Looking for opinions on lighting. I currently have Ai vegas over my tanks. I was considering upgrading to the hydra 52's or the radion pros. I have always had aqua illumination lighting and really like them. Are the extra money for radions worth it? I am always one to like to upgrade to the latest and I was wanting some opinions on the radions since I have never owned them before. The thing that has kept me from the radions before is that they never had a controller option and you alway had to hook your computer to set them up. Now they have reeflink similar to the Ai director which I am currently using. Expert opinions please....

    I've never had radions either, but I'm going to guess that they're going to be pretty comparable to each other. The radion guys love their radions, the AI guys love their AI's. I don't think I've ever read a thread where someone switched from one to the other and said "damn this thing blows the other one out of the water"
    You know that as soon as you buy something new the next greatest light fixture will be announced and you'll be wanting that one LOL. Get a chiller, switch to halides. The electrical costs will be offset by the fact you're not buying $1000+ in the newest LED fixtures every 2 years or so.

    I see you have a couple for sale. Would two of those hydra 52 been enough for a 300DD.

    No I have a 3rd I'm using now. I'm going to go to a 93 cube so I'm keeping one

    At Macna this year Josh was buying Radion's, and the guy told him to save 100 dollars and not buy the pros.
