My ph is around 7.91 but my KH is 11.  How do I raise the ph without also raising the KH?

When is it 7.91, night time, day time or when your lights are on? There is nothing wrong with 7.91 because mine is lower than that. However, if you wanted to raise it you could use an airpump drawing air from outside. It sure beats opening a window. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/biggrin.gif

I just ran an air line from my skimmer to out side, and it made a world of difference.

How exactly do you make an air line to outside? You need air pump hook up or just a throw a tube line from skimmer to outside?  Where can I find an article about this theories?

I alos battle the pH problem based on the new house being airtight, all gas appliances, fireplaces and 5 people. I couldn't run one to the outside either but was able to purchase the pH boosting media from The Filter Guys, made a makeshift reactor by taking a 1-1/2" tee with the ends capped, drilled with holes, tapped for 3/8" hose to the skimmer. I fill the caps with filter floss and then fill the thing with about 2-3 cups of the media. Works, needs changed monthly and all is good.

My setup is in the basement so I just drilled a hole through my seal plate on my house, and ran an air line out side with a air filter on it. Just make sure the air line is big enough as to not restrict the air flow to your skimmer. I used 3/8 tubing for mine.
If your setup is on the main floor you can drill a small hole in the floor as close to the wall as possible and then run the tubing down to the basement then out.
