Im getting ready to order my led kit to put over my marineland 30 gal cube. I am doing the 24 dimmable kit and was thinking 8 royal blue 4 regular blue 8 white and 4 warm white. I was wondering what color combos others are running
And what kind of growth you are getting

Anybody else like running red with their LEDS? Or is that just me?

I have 192 LED's on 4 10x18" panels over my frag tank (2'x4' foot print) and my 120 (also 2'x4' but 2' deep too). It was ALOT of soldering! I approached it with the conventional wisdom 1white:2blue and I couldn't be happier with the results even after a year of use. I used 1netral white:2cool white, and 1reg blue:2 royal blue. Also I wanted to have greens and reds, I chose to put 2 of each per panel, so I replaced 2 neutral whites with reds, and two reg blues with greens on each panel.

When i cran up my lights to 100% i get 1600PAR just beneath the surface!!!!! and I can reach 400 par at the bottom (not directly beneath either panel) I'm using 60 degree optics on everything except the reds and greens. The osram reds i don't believe have optics available, unless something has changed since I bought mine. but i did use 80 degree optics with my green leds.

Erayk1 (elliot) recently added an independent channel of UV led's on his tank and OMG! It's like a freaking acid trip! His mix of colors is similar to mine, I think he's using 4 UV per 10x17" panel. That will be something I'm going to add in the future for sure.

so this is what I'm thinking after some research and input. 12 royal blue. 4 regular blue.4 cool white. and 4 neutral white. this way I will have a 2:1 blue and white ratio. and I will cover more of the color spectrum than with just royal blue and cool white. what do you guys think?
