I have an algae growing thats a type of bubble I think.  Its maroon in color, and more "leafy" rather than spherical.  And slimey when you break one.  Any special cause for concern or just a run of the mill annoyance where I need to improve the water quality?  Has anyone heard of dosing peroxide to treat algae?  A friend told me he saw it, but I want a bit wider opinion before I commit to that!

You shouldnt be alarm, you can keep water change and get it all out. It will pass. From my
experience when I notice cyano shows up, it tells me my lights is getting old, or RO Di filters need to replace.

I hope so. Both lights and ro/di are new, its proving a little trickier to get rid of than the regular green stuff

I just figured it out yesterday, myself.  Click on the add reply button (brings you to a new screen with editor features) instead of typing in the quick reply box.  You can create hyperlinks from the editor screen.  First, type something.  Then highlight it.  Then click on the "create link" button at the top of the text entry field.  This opens a box where you can type or paste the URL and click OK.
