Can't seem to get my hands on a pump. IF anyone has a Dart or similar sized Dolphin external pump for sale PLEASE PM me. I'm up in Clear Lake Iowa so you may have to go through the trouble of putting it in a box and dropping it off at Fedex/UPS (shipping it)

Willing to pay $100 for decent shaped AO smith motored pumps, $150 for average used Emerson motored Darts, IF you have a Hybrid with a Baldor motor I'd be willing to pay more......

May be interested in anything 3K to 4.5K GPH externals.......

    Thanks!

    Al

Head would likely be around 5'. Looking for as much flow as I can get for 150 watts...... External pumps with ratings from 3K to 4.5K gph.

So with an impeller change it could be a normal Emerson motored Dart?!?

How much are you looking to get for it?

Really Craig??? Nothing wrong with Reeflo Baldor pumps. Bought a Tarpon used from AJ and ran it another 6 years with no problems, bought the swordtail as a backup in case the Tarpon failed, never did....sorry if you have had a bad experience

They are noise, energy hogs, and the front seals leak all the time. Warranty and customer service sucks.

I have an opinion too..... Actually I think Im running 6 of them right now. LOL. I LOVE my Darts. How can someone sit here and call one of the most efficient pumps on the market an "energy hog"??? 4300 gph rating at 150(Baldor) watts? 3600 at 130(AO) watts I'll run it or 6 or 8 all day long......

Like it or not they are more efficient then the more expensive Deepwater pumps (which seems like the bigger ones are now unavailable???)

Never had a seal or bearing issue. Had a seal on a 10+ year old Dolphin leak but my Darts have never failed me. Funny thing is I have bought EVERY pump I'm running USED, still no issues.

your running six of those bad boys what kind of system are you hiding from us?

I just know I spent really good money on three of them only to have the seals leak under warranty their solution was to send you a $2 Seal and say good luck installing it

Not all on one system. There's 2 baldor motored and 1 AO motored on my big system (roughly 1200 gallons), Ao and a few mags on a 600 gallon system, AO, Baldor and Mags on another 600. AO on a 200. Rest of the stuff is smaller. But I have a pair of acrylic tanks (340 and 370) that I will be needing soon and I have zero pumps for either, so need at least another pair.

I've got a basement full of freshwater rays and fish they can't eat like the Characins you see on river monsters..... lol.

Like I said, I've bought all the pumps used so I've never experienced their customer service, but I know how piss poor customer service can make a mans blood boil. I have a burning hatred for Danner/Pondmaster. I used to (still run 2) run 3 pondmaster ap100 airpumps. The things are junk, but they make it out of warranty before they eat themselves up.

I'm a tech by trade so I fix alot of stuff myself. Have kind of become one of those grumpy pricks that doesn't like relying on anyone to fix my stuff, so I rebuild the air pumps every year and have repaired pumps (seals and bearings) before, but I could see why you would be bitter if they just sent you seals. I would have tossed them in a box with the pump and sent it in - IF under warranty that's THEIR baby to fix, not yours........

    lol

Dont get me started on Danner!

Sorry to derail your thread. Please start another when you have time and post some pics of all your systems. I think Clear Lake is about 75 minutes from Wloo? You should come down to some of our meetings.

I don't mind the hijack at all..... :)

Not 2500 of saltwater, only have 300 gallons of salt water.

There's probably 2500 gallons of freshwater currently. But the numbers on the rise, just like the ray population here....

I've got some vids up on youtube - ALaake

Lots of history of the stuff here over at Monsterfishkeepers.com I'm DBjunkie over there...... Been keeping rays for 10 years.
