Refractometer

    I meant to put this in the publis section. Looking for a refractometer. Anyone have one sitting around that they would want to part with.

    I have one...I gave $30 for it so if I can get that out of it, I'll be happy. I don't have any calibration fluid for it, but it does come in a plastic case with a precision screwdriver for calibrating. Let me know.

    If you don't take it I will because I am skeptical on if mine is right or if someone else's is wrong.

    Any idea what brand it is? $30 sounds good, but you are kinda far..

    I'm not sure of a specific brand. The Model Number is RHS-10ATC. I can take photos if you want. It's in a blue plastic case with foam padding.

    Does the case say "Portable Refractometer" on it? If so that is one you can get from Dr Fosters

    Yeah, that's the one. BTW, I'll ship for cost of shipping. I can't imagine it would be much more than $5 (if any).

    Looks like it is an unbranded Made In China deal, but it has nothing but good reviews. Are you headed this direction any time? I would say to ship it, but they are like $43 new LOL. Not sure it would be worth shiping fees.

    The last time I was in Des Moines was...hmm...I don't remember. Spring Fest 2009? Actually, I think it was when I went to pick stuff up from Ryan in October. If you can wait until May 15th, I can bring it then. Up to you...you're not going to hurt my feelings if you don't think it's worth it.

    Eh I can wait until then. My rock will still be curing around that time so it's not like I am going to get started with much of anything.

    I suppose I should add if Gered really wants it and can use it now, go for it. My feeling aren't easily hurt either /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

    Just make sure it's calibrated, if not you can you'll have to see where it's erring too. Mine reads pure water a little less than 0 and tap water right at 0. So I try to keep it at 1.024 that way it actually should be 1.026.
