So yesterday the wife was vacuuming and accidentally got the Apex display cable. Snap.

Anyone ever repair one of these things? The cable that it comes with is flimsy as hell and thin. Seems almost impossible to splice, but maybe.

Lee, he said it was the display cable. The wires on it are pretty thin but probably easily repairable.

I had the same thing happen a couple months ago with a vacuum eating the wire. I stripped the wires and soldered it back together which didn't work I haven't looked at it since I haven't needed the display. But your post made think I better get mine fixed. I think I will take mine apart again and give it another go.

Give it a go and see what happens. Luckily the APEX display isn't necessary and you can run without it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind as much if I hadn't had the thing for less than month. I like the display. I find it's easier than going to the phone and my pc is upstairs.

On top of this, my dog ate my brand new Kindle paperwhite lady week. No fixing that.

    Just wanted to update this:

I got in touch with Neptune. They will repair the unit for $35 plus the cost of shipping it to them. I tried to splice a new USB cable onto it, but no dice. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif

I asked if they could just sell me the cable and again, no dice. They say no user-serviceable parts. It really loos as simple as swapping a PCB, so that's disappointing. $35 isn't bad, I guess, but it negates the great deal I got on the Apex used. Ugh.
