How can I replenish the food for my Mandarin Goby??  I have had him about a year, he wasn't healthy when I got him he cam back and looked very nice and fat but it seems he is getting very skinny again after a year?!?!  There is no way to get him out of the tank and I think I need to get him some pods rather fast?!?  Anyone help me out/suggestions?

Try some bloodworms. I have had good luck with mandarins taking to bloodworms ( the two I've had any way) and others on RC have had similar luck. Something about the smell/size that they take to and it will supplement its feeding until you get your pods back up. Do you have a fuge on your system? It really helps, and dosing phyto has helped as well. My mandarin is a year and a half old and nice and plump and I have lots of pods running around on my glass.

I have bought a couple of different kinds of live pods from Aquatic Environments (Davenport) - I am sure one of the Des Moines stores could get them though, if they don't stock them. Both of my mandarins (different tanks) graze on the live stuff all day, but both come out for frozen food (generally Rod's food mixed with mysis and brine shrimp with bloodworms on occassion too.

I was doing some reading online and found that the copepods eat live phyto. If you don't already use it, it may help your pod population down the road. My mandarin will eats brine shrimp pretty good if I get some in his area of the tank. Good luck
