Found a return pump but the rubber wire coating is coming away from the plastic housing of the pump. Is there anything that can be put on it to make it water tight? Or no? Thanks

Without actually seeing it the only advice I can give then is do not buy it. Especially if you want to run it internal. Do you have your tank on a GFCI outlet? If not and you put that pump in saltwater and you then put your hand in the tank it could end your life.
