I have an RO unit without DI.  I just picked up a TDS meter and had a reading of 14, but after replacing the filters have a reading of 9.
    Questions:
    * is 9 good, bad, or ok?
    * I have had the unit for about 1 year.  If I replaced membrane, would the TDS reading go down?
    * What would the addition of a DI unit get me?  A lower TDS reading?
    * Should I worry about chlorine?
      * Does chlorine content increase as the membrane gets older?
      * Does chlorine content increase as the filters get older?

    * 9 is ok, but I would shoot for 0
*it the membrain is over a year old, it is probably getting time to replace it
*DI would probably make the TDS go down. I would get the DI addition, it would be alot better for you tank

Aren't DI membranes supposed to last much longer than the other filters as long as they are flushed properly?

I think it's around 18 months for a "general" rule.
