    Hey guys,

I'm not sure if most are aware of the deal or not, but I figured I would share:

I went into Seascapes to get some food, and happened across some Rod's frozen food that I figured I would give a try.

If you purchase a package of the original, they will throw in three smaller packs of some other blends (fish eggs, seaweed, and one other) as well as a neat drink coozie for free.

Yup. Bought a pack earlier this month. Good deal, and the beer coozie is perfect for the Iowa City crowd.

Ok, sounds like it may actually be a Rod's deal and not so much a Seascapes deal. Glad others have got in on it too!

I'm not quite sure what to think about the fish eggs food. Nothing in my tank seems overly enthused about it.

My fish don't seem to care too much for the eggs either, but they are very nice for feeding my corals since they are ever so slightly heavier than water. Getting them into each sun coral polyp is pretty easy. They must have some decent nutritional value as well since two of the corals I've been feeding over the course of three weeks have decided to split off new polyps.

My coral beauty and yellow coris wrasse love the eggs. The rest will eat them but prefer other food if its in the tank at the same time. Also, what is with the giant shrimp in their standard mix? I mean giant for mysis comparison. None of my fish can fit them in their mouths. I always end up giving them to my bubble tip.

Yes, I've found the large chunks to be problematic for me as well due to how I feed.

On "Find a squirtable container for feeding corals" day at WalMart, the best I found was basically a clear, squeezable ketchup bottle. It works great for defrosting frozen food and feeding corals, but the nozzle is pretty narrow.

Every time I've used the Rod's mix there's a large chunk of meat that gets jammed up and then feeding stops.
