i just wanted to know if you guys had any input for me.   i have only had this guy for about 4 days, it came from a fellow reefers tank.  When i got up this morning to take a look at it. it appeared to have some live rock sticking through its mouth.  you can understand why this would be alarming to me.  i did some reading online and it looks like they split from the mouth. (i hope that's whats going on)  i just wanted to know if this is something i should be worried about or if its something else going on.
    thanks guys

A mature bubble tips often splits when introduced to a new home from the stress. Happens alot.

Sounds awesome! Mine split too within a few days of being in the tank. Then a couple of months later split again. I wonder how big these can get without splitting? I with mine would get bigger.

When measuring the size of an RBTA, you measure the oral disc, not the disc + tentacle length. Oral discs can grow to be up to 1 foot across, dinner plate size. Add on another 6 to 8" of tentacle length and another 6" to 8" of body length and your anemone of that size could reach from one side of a 36" tank to the other. The RBTA that I have in my tank usually splits when the oral disc is about 8"

Update on the bta. I just wanted to know if this is normal. I looks like I have two bta's now but the didn't split all the way.
They are still conected. It has two oral disks and two mouths.

Sometimes they are so close together that it looks like that. Can you see two separate foots?

I was thinking the same thing so I turned off the power heads to take a closer look.
    It only has one foot.

Sounds like it hasn't really split yet. Maybe soon...but not quite yet.
