Well I woke up today to a unpleasant surprise. I went to feed my tank and noticed that my blue throat trigger wasn't front and center as usual. I immediately knew something was very wrong. After looking around I found him dead in between the tank and stand on one side. Guess he jumped in the middle of the night. Normally I have screen tops on the tank but the plastic screen had begun to dry rot so I had removed them until I could replace the screens. Totally bummed because he was by far my favorite.

[IMG] Crappie pic but yeah dead as can be. Only plus is that now I can add some high end wrasses I have been wanting. He was a wrasse killer for some reason.

Yeah it sucks but it was my fault. I should have had those screens replace weeks ago.

I had something similar. I was questioning the screens I used and I waited too long before replacing them

Yep shrimp where there first. Had to feed him well before adding any small fish to the tank as well. He would dart after them when first introduced if he was hungry. But after that would never bother them. Well other than the wrasse he bit it's face off and the other one he gutted.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had a Blue jaw pair for a while. Did not harm anything. I have a few wrasses.
