Ok we are doing some major tank overhauling here...Hang in there with me as this ad may be a bit long! lol. Looks like the 56g reef inhabitants are sold pending pick up, if all the livestock are sold out of this system the corals will NOT be for sale. Its either the whole tank going or only livestock, whichever offer comes first. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif



And there is an interested party for the darwin x perc clown pair but needs help getting them to him (cedar rapids) so if anyone is going that way let me know.

what other clowns do you have? size, type? what kind of tank? size? that's a lot of variables there armydog. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif Clarkii's are feisty no doubt about it, and he's currently being attempted to bond up with a fairly 'aggressive' white stripe maroon and they both bicker like no other! lol. So I would hesitate unless you knew what you were getting into with them.

That said, he's not an overly aggressive clarkii, just average level, and if it's only one other clown you want to try and pair up with him, that's cool... just watch them. If it's an already bonded pair your trying to add him too.... probably not.

 

at that size you could chance it, could being the operative word though. with 2 smaller clowns I would worry, he's a bigger boy and those are some peaceful clowns to be messing with. I'd want to sell him with you knowing full well the possibilities of him beating the snot out of those two. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif (as much as I want to rehome him, gotta say it for the sake of the other clowns at least).

I very rarely advice mixing multiple clowns in a single tank. Especially one as small as a 75g, in order for me to even consider multi clown pair tanks it depends heavily on tank floor space (territory establishments), other livestock inhabiting the tank, and types of clowns your trying to mix. There are some success stories out there with multi clown pair tanks but almost all of them are larger tanks (like over 200g+).


Black and whites are a variety of ocellaris clowns (or percs pending on bloodline) but either way, ocellaris and perculas are nice peaceful clowns that do well in mass groups as young juveniles but as they are paired off and bonded should only be housed in their bonded pairs. One pair will dominate the tank and the other pair will get chased off or killed if not immediately, soon after the addition of the second pair. I wouldn't do it, for the fishes well being and your wallets sake for sure!
