I want to build a auto top off/ saltwater mixing station. I have the 2- 44 gallon Brute containers. I am purchacing a Mag 7 from BRS today. But I dont know what plumbing (pvc pipes bulkhead fitting etc) to get or how to put everything together. Does anyone know any step by step web links or have the time to come over and help me with it?? (I will provide the beer lol)

I just built mine, there are a few different ways to go about it. I also used "uniseals" instead of bulkheads which work better on curved surfaces. You can get from BRS for about $2-$3 each. I would take a look at this thread on RC for some ideas on the setup/plumbing you might want to do:

    Hope this helps!

What kind of pump did you use (or recommend)

I didn't use an external pump instead I built a stand that holds a a barrel of RO on top and a barrel for saltwater mixing on the bottom. Both containers have a spicket with a valve & hose on the bottom. I can easily fill the saltwater container with the RO on the top (gravity feed). The RO container has a float valve that is hooked directly up to my RO unit.

The saltwater mixing container on the bottom sits just high enough for me to fit a 5g bucket under it... it's also only about 6 feet away from my sump so I can empty the saltwater into my sump by gravity if I ever wanted to. ( I use my Litermeter 3 to do constant/automatic waterchanges though so have not needed to do that yet). I do have a maxijet that I threw in the saltwater container to mix up the salt.

Do you want to pump the water to your sump after mixing it? How far & how high do you need to move the water? That will determine what size of pump you might want to use for it.
