I have my second order from saltwaterfish.com and I have to vent somewhere.

I ordered fish from them, 5 to be exact. This was a couple weeks back. I only wanted 1 fish but because of the free shipping i ordered more to get the free deal. Of the 5 I ordered 2 were DOA and the 3 wasn't long for the world. So 3 of 5 died. I recieved credit and replaced an order.

My chief complaint was the fish were packaged in so little water. I'm talking tiny bags with barely enough water for the fish, if the bag tipped on it's side the fish wouldn't be able to swim.

My second order came in today and 1 of my fish is DOA and a couple others look miserable. They are in the same amount of water or less.

I am frustrated that a company whos main responsibility is specimen care would be so careless. At this point I am not even going to pursue credit with them. I am sharing my experience and moving on to a company i trust to send healthy specimens adequately packaged.

Good to know. Sometimes paying a little higher prices to a more reputable company is well worth it.

I would caution anyone placing online livestock orders right now... It's way too hot outside even if they use coolers/cold packs. I would only recommend placing mail-orders in the spring or fall only when temps are between about 45-85 F.

Thanks for the advice. I've seen that website but haven't ordered from them and won't now.

Lee - Good advice no use putting our pets through this and taking the chance they won't make it.

They should have still packed more water... Sounds like they were being cheap to reduce the shipping weight.

Sorry to hear about the fish and your problems with the company. I wouldn't use them after hearing you've had the same, if not worse experience, TWICE! How cruel to the fish and such poor customer service!! Thanks for venting as we all know why!
