Why are my sand sifting starfish climbing the glass?? Are they hungry? Also added a flasher wrasse yesterday and haven't seen him since last night, I hope he is just hiding and will show up later.

not sure on the star fish if your tank is new there may not be enuf food. if you have built in over flows check there for your wrasse also the sump. if theres no canopy or top it may have bailed.

if i read your post correctly you have more then 1 starfish? I am not a fan of these but my guess is they have wiped out your sandbed and are looking for more food. how big of a tank are we talking about here?

Tank is a 180 with about 4" of sand and a 55 gal sump, and has been up and running with out any sand sifting starfish for about 4 years. I have glass cover on the whole top and have checked the floor, over flow box and the sump. There is about 200 lbs of rock so I just hope he is hiding, but I had a 6 line that just up and vanished after about 9 months. There are only 6 other fish in the tank so there should be plenty of room for him. It would just suck to spend to $$, time in QT, then never see it again in the display.
